Founded in 1996, Eurowings GmbH is a low-cost airline of Germany and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. The airline which was a part of Lufthansa Regional until October 2014 has gone through a significant transformation in the recent years. Grupo Aeroméxico, including Aeroméxico Connect (regional subsidiary), Aeroméxico mainline, and Aeroméxico Contigo (on select U.S.-Mexico Routes), is emerged as Mexico's largest domestic airline group. The company flew 19,703,000 passengers in 2016.
